This year will be my second Thanksgiving as an AltShift’er — and the second time on 5shift for the big day. I cooked for 6 adults (and 4 kids) last year, and only 2 were officially AltShift’ing — but all of us loved every bite. So this year, there are 8 adults (and 4 kids), and I’m making all the same recipes from last year, with a couple new additions.

Here are the 5Shift-friendly Thanksgiving recipes I’ll be re-making again this year (with my tweaks… because I fail at following recipes as written):
I don’t typically snack, but we eat Thanksgiving Dinner around 3pm. So, I guess instead of appetizers, these are really a mini-pre-dinner-lunch-while-cooking-dinner
Keto Sausage Balls — I make these the day before and put them on a baking sheet and into fridge, covered with plastic wrap. Remove wrap and bake right before serving!
Keto Stuffing – Full disclosure: this one takes some time to make. First you make almond flour buns, then turn it into a stuffing. But Stuffing is my favorite part of Thanksgiving Dinner and it’s only once a year, so I say it’s worth it. I didn’t use chorizo (just regular breakfast sausage) last year, but I might switch it up this time. And this recipe is DELICIOUS!
Mashed Cauliflower. I add a bit of ground nutmeg and an egg!
Green Bean Casserole – a yummy Thanksgiving tradition.
Roasted Broccoli with Bacon – this is a staple at our house year-round.
Keto Giblet Gravy – last year was the first time I didn’t just throw away the giblets, and I was so glad I tried this out. It was so good!
And of course the star of the show: Turkey – we soaked in brine for the first time last year, too — and never going back!
This year I’m not making the Mashed Cauliflower (someone is bring Mashed Potatoes for the non-AltShift’ers) or the Roasted Broccoli (it’s delicious, but we’re having it with dinner the night before instead). Instead, I’ll be adding in these new additions:
Roasted Garlic & Thyme Mushrooms – substitute 2T breadcrumbs with 2T crushed pork rinds and a little parmesan cheese!
Cauliflower Mac & Cheese – we have this every 5shift so I don’t follow a recipe anymore, but it ends up being very similar to this linked recipe. Yummy!
